The most personal journeys are not chosen from a list.
Every other journey on this site is a considered starting point, and for most people that is exactly the right way in. Some travellers do not want a starting point.
A family marking three generations together, a couple with an immovable four days, a photographer with one species in mind, an executive who has to be somewhere on Thursday — none of those is served by picking the closest-fitting itinerary and negotiating from it.
This is the version where nothing is assumed. We ask what you want, what you cannot move, and what you would rather avoid, and we build outward from those answers.

Straight answer
Private does not mean expensive. It means no compromise.
Every journey we quote already has a private vehicle and a private guide — that is standard, not an upgrade. What this journey adds is that the route, the pace and the shape of each day are yours as well.
Practically, that means the day does not follow a schedule set six months ago. You stop for as long as something is interesting, and you change plan when your guide hears something worth changing it for.

First
The brief
A conversation about who is travelling, the dates that cannot move, what you want out of it and what you would rather not do. Ten minutes if it is simple; longer if it is not. This is where most of the value is added, and it is free.
Then
A written route, costed
A day-by-day plan built to that brief, with the reasoning visible — why this order, why these nights here rather than there, what each decision costs you in time or money. Usually within 48 hours of us understanding the brief.
Then
Revision, until it is right
The first version is a proposal, not a product. Most journeys go through two or three passes before they are correct, and the second pass is normally where the trip actually gets good.
On the ground
A day that follows you
Your guide holds the plan loosely. Stay longer where something is developing, leave early when the light is worth it, abandon the route when the radio says there is a reason to. That flexibility only exists because the vehicle is yours.

Why this shape
Because the highest form of luxury is control
Not the largest room and not the longest list of inclusions. Simply the ability to decide what your day looks like, and to change your mind at nine in the morning.
That is unglamorous to advertise and it is the thing experienced travellers actually pay for.

Before you ask us
- How long should it be?
- As long as you have. We have built four-day journeys that worked and three-week journeys that did not, and the difference was the routing rather than the length.
- Is this more expensive than the other journeys?
- Not inherently. The vehicle and guide are already private on everything we quote. Cost moves with the camps, the season, the party size and whether you fly — not with the word private.
- Can you handle discretion?
- Yes. Arrangements stay between you and your named planner, and we do not use guest names or photographs without written permission.

Whatever the brief requires, from a well-placed camp to a private villa or exclusive-use house. Accommodation is a decision in the design rather than a category selected in advance.
We do not publish a property list, because the right camp depends on your month, your route and your party. Your written proposal names the camps we recommend, the room category and why each was chosen — how we choose them.

- Travel month
- Migration periods, festive dates and the northern high season carry stronger demand. Shoulder and green seasons can materially reduce the price.
- Accommodation
- The largest single lever. Property, room category, meal and drink basis all change the real operating cost.
- Route and pace
- More nights in fewer places may improve the journey; remote regions cost more to reach and supply.
- Domestic aviation
- Scheduled flights and charters can buy back whole days. They are included only where the product page and confirmed proposal say so.
- Party and rooming
- Vehicle, guide and fixed logistics are divided across the party. Solo travel, single rooms, family rooms and exclusive use change the per-person figure.
- Special experiences
- Balloon flights, private dining, specialist vehicles, walking, boating and marine days are costed when they are genuinely part of the design.
