Western Tanzania is not a conventional circuit. Flights are limited, distances are immense and visitor numbers stay tiny.

Fly west to Katavi
Take the remote bush flight and begin wildlife viewing after arrival.
Day 2
Katavi floodplains
Explore seasonal concentrations of buffalo, hippo and predators with almost no safari traffic.
Day 3
Deep Katavi
Reach more remote sectors and walk where operationally available.
Day 4
Katavi to Mahale
Fly onward and continue by boat to a lodge beneath forested mountains on Lake Tanganyika.
Day 5
Chimpanzee trekking
Enter the forest with trackers and observe habituated chimpanzees for the permitted viewing period.
Day 6
Second chimpanzee trek
A second opportunity protects an expensive western journey from depending on one morning.
Day 7
Mahale beyond the chimpanzees
Walk, boat, kayak, swim or simply spend the day beside Lake Tanganyika.
Day 8
Fly back
Transfer by boat and aircraft toward Arusha or Dar es Salaam.

- Scheduled flights and charters can buy back whole days. They are included only where the product page and confirmed proposal say so.
- Party and rooming
- Vehicle, guide and fixed logistics are divided across the party. Solo travel, single rooms, family rooms and exclusive use change the per-person figure.
